Based in the Maldives, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly talented and motivated Director of Sales & Marketing to join our Sales & Marketing team.


Ensure achievement of the financial targets for the hotel, and that the Sales and Marketing team achieve its budgeted goals and individual targets.  Build an aligned brand presence in the market, by providing leadership, coaching and by being a role model. Build and maintain positive relationships with key partners, and set and monitor strategic goals. Fully endorse Jumeirah’s Brand and Image with linking corporate policy and strategy with all of the Sales and Marketing Teams across the Region and to all existing SBU’s.

About the Role

 Provide leadership in entrepreneurial sales & marketing activities
Develop Commercial plans and strategies for each resort to drive revpar performance and minimise CoS
 Identify and build productive relationships with business partners.
 Develop and implement tactical pricing per geographical market as the business need asserts.
Lead the Business Review for each property in relation to the Sales and Marketing.
Influence the Revenue Management team of each property to implement strategies in order to increase revpar performance.
Set, implement and monitor annual business plan goals and sales targets.
 Ensure all plans and activities lead to achieving a successful strategy 340.
Lead the creation of flexible solutions to attract new and potential customer       
Coach and be a mentor for the S&M team.
Supervise, administer and ensure timely completion of all activities of the S&M department.
Develop a complete knowledge of company sales policies and SOPs and ensure knowledge of and adherence to those policies by the sales team.
Research, evaluate International & local trends for future business potential
Comply with all regional reporting requirements in the said time frame
Represent the hotel at Road Shows, Trade Fairs and other management events.
Complete the successful pre-opening sales & marketing activities.
Determine and implement the balance of business mix into the hotel.
Co-ordinate and produce the annual rates and contracts, with seasonality changes in mind.
Develop and maintain a strong relationship with the KHOA / Government.
Continually analyse the best business practises for the hotel.
Continually drive the sales, revenue teams to achieve the desired goals.
Maintain effective communication, with regular 1-2-1 and team meetings.
Ensure that performance of sales colleagues achieves SLA level.
Ensure Jumeirah’s systems and processes enable sales colleagues to succeed.
Conduct a professional, thorough site inspection of the hotel with clients, exhibiting key features and benefits of the property, and ensure that all Sales Managers conduct thorough site inspections
Any other duties as may reasonably be requested by the management
Provide leadership with effective use of entrepreneurial approaches to sales.
Identify the benefits of Jumeirah products and services to individual customers to maximise revenue.
 Maximise use of Cost of Sale information in strategic and tactical planning & operation.
Ensure that ADPs to achieve current portfolio revenue and profit targets and maximise future growth.
Plan & ensure execution of sales activities are in line with strategy 340.
Identify and build business relationships with business influencers who can potentially generate new business.
Set, implement and monitor sales targets for each individual sales personnel.
 Ensure that all plans are approved and implemented accordingly.
Develop and maintain effective business-partner relationships with all Stakeholders at all times to the benefit of the hotel and company.
Provide leadership through appropriate coaching sessions.
Use all available media and market intelligence to ensure up to date knowledge of the market and prospective clients is available at all times.
Provide leadership in using customer to trigger information to identify key business connections.
Ensure complete awareness of current state & future growth of Jumeirah.
Identify and build business relationships with key business influencers to monitor likely changes.
Prepare annual business plan to meet Jumeirah’s business targets.
Monitor and drive the implementation of annual business plans, evaluate and modify as necessary, taking into account business changes
Facilitate the implementation of annual sales & marketing plan / workbook
Ensure regular and timely market and sales intelligence communication with required stakeholders in the hotel and Jumeirah RSO colleagues.
Coach colleagues in effective methods of all communication channels.
Assign and monitor single point of contact.
Set and maintain empowerment criteria for sales colleagues.
Ensure the collection of performance feedback which enables accurate evaluation and development on a regular basis.
Ensure that all colleagues are confident that their opinions are valued.
Feedback customer and partner comments to colleagues in all areas.
Ensure that all customers and partners have a sales point of contact and accurately identify that person.
Ensure all customers receive timely feedback and information.
Lead the regular and frequent collection of useful customer and partner feedback.
Act on all feedback promptly and appropriately.
Use feedback constructively to adapt working methods and develop best practice.
Ensure that all sales colleagues share tactics for collecting, recording and sharing all communications.
Lead sales communications to deliver Jumeirah’s business targets
Collect and feedback customer/partner comments to appropriate colleagues in the hotel and within Jumeirah.

About You
In order for you to be considered for this role, you will have / be:

Bachelor's Degree in Business
At least five years in a Sales & Marketing director role within the hospitality and hotel management segment, preferably with pre-opening experience
Experience  working in Maldives would be an advantage
Proven experience in strategic thinking and drawing up strategic sales and marketing plans
Proven experience in leading a team of sales & marketing professionals
Strong personality who fosters good team working relations
Positive with a ‘can-do’ attitude
Experience working in a multicultural team including working in an isolated resort environment
Flexible working hours, hands on, patient, people’s person and very service oriented
Excellent organizational skills, able to multitask and meet deadlines
Excellent command of written and spoken English
