Job Summary

Working within the Sales team, this position has responsibility for actively selling The St. Regis Abu Dhabi as a destination for Events and exhibitions, responding to all catering and event enquiries in order to maximize revenue & utilization of meeting space, working to achieve or exceed budgeted revenues.  The Event Sales Specialist will manage enquiries and convert business, including negotiating/contracting, as well as operating the piece of business. This will include both proactive and reactive duties and indeed Sales calls will be required especially in Government and Embassy Sector. This individual must demonstrate to be able to deliver results in a fast paced environment and being consist with the level of customer service according to The St. Regis Standards & Programmes and in line with Marriott International Policy.

Responsible for actively selling events in addition to servicing them while the events are in-house
Responsible to answering enquiries coming from both SSO’s, Sales Team members and direct requests in addition to uncover new clients from these markets
To ensure knowledge and understanding of Opera Sales & Catering and PMS and keeping up with any updates in the system
Attend relevant trainings
Ensure proposals meet the criteria following booking rules, pattern and pricing
Utilize the standard template for proposals; ensure sales process follows the EAME Divisional Groups Enquiry handling guidelines.  Timeline for response back to clients is defined by client expectations, which will vary for each request and must be confirmed with client at time of enquiry.  (Standard response time is within 24 hours of receiving enquiry)
Identify operational limitations and deliver according to what was promised; manage/supervise effectively the operation of events
Responsible for documenting Contracts/Agreements for all Groups booked, following processes and procedures.  Maintaining files with all required information and/or documentation pre/post events (initial request, proposal, relevant information, signed contract, BEO’s, vouchers, etc.)
