Jumeirah Zabeel Saray is a luxurious beachside resort located on the west crescent of the iconic Palm Jumeirah in Dubai. The interior of the resort is inspired by the ancient palaces of Turkey and features hand-painted finishings, Turkish artworks and stunning murals inspired by the Golden Age of the Ottoman Empire. The resort offers 405 rooms and suites, 38 Royal Residences and the award-winning Talise Ottoman Spa, one of the largest and most luxurious spas in the Middle East. The resort offers Sinbad’s Kids Club complete with splash park, nightlife destination MusicHall and a collection of eight diverse restaurants which offer a vibrant selection of culinary experiences. The resort also offers motorised and non-motorised water sports, complete with private jetty offering shuttle boat transfers to and from the main-land of Dubai.

About the Role:

The main purpose of this position will be to actively contribute to the successful achievement of the organizational goals, link corporate policy and strategy within the Rooms Division functions.
Ensuring that all departments perform and maximize their potential, are individually profitable and sustainable whilst enhancing the hotels image.
To support the Front Office Manager & undertake their responsibilities during their absence and assist him in all areas.

Your duties will include:

• Overlooks the weekly duty roster as well as monthly attendance sheet and annual vacation plan for Front Desk / Guest Relations colleagues.
• Overlooks pending vacation and lieu days for the entire Front Office department.
• Ensures that SOP’s in Q-Pulse are maintained and updated as and when required.
• Strive to ensure that every colleague member accurately records an average of 18 hours training per quarter.
• Through clear metrics and customer feedback continuously review all Rooms Division service levels provided across the hotel and make necessary improvements.
• Daily monitor guest feedback, communicate all feedback results and make recommendations for the resorts improvement.
• Respond to guest complaints in a timely and empathic manner in conjunction with Business Excellence

• Constantly analyze business practices and identify opportunity for improvements, which result in an increase in revenue, guest satisfaction and/or cost saving.
• Assist in the daily operation ensuring to always be a leading example showing excellent customer service skills.
• Act as the hotel’s Duty Manager, hence be fully aware of emergency procedures and able to handle such situations.
• Attend the daily handover briefings.
• Handle booking out guests in case of an overbooking situation.
• Ensure the general cleanliness of the lobby and entrance area.
• Personally, on a daily basis verify that guests in the hotel are receiving the prescribed levels of service.
• Actively promotes an awareness of guest requirements throughout the organization.

• Demonstrate awareness of the departmental budget and assist to maximize profitability by controlling expenses and maximizing room sales (especially selling high rates to walk-in guests).
• Assist the Front Office Manager in preparing the departmental budget.
• Be vigilant in regard to in-house credit matters and act upon any discrepancies.
• Sign late charge letters and ensure that all charges are justified and sufficiently backed up.

• Attend the Executive Morning Briefing in the absence of the Front Office Manager.
• To perform any related duties and special projects as requested by the Front Office Manager.
• Adhere to Jumeirah International’s Guiding Principles and Hallmarks and to promote them to all colleagues making sure to always be an example for them.
• Ensures competence level of all colleagues is sufficient for the departments to meet/exceed the requirements of the organization and guest.
• Develop colleagues by delegating tasks and then empower and coach them making sure they achieve the desired results.
• Carry out appraisals and Bi-Monthly Feedback Sessions.
• Identify training needs, carry out training and document it appropriately.
• Ensure that all colleague’s follow the JI & ZS health, safety and hygiene policy and procedures, and that a high standard of grooming is maintained by all Front Office colleagues.
• Carry out 1-2-1 meetings
• Ensures appropriate and efficient communication

About You:

For this role you will need to have :

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent diploma in Hotel Administration or Business Administration

• At least 2 years in a position of direct responsibility as Guest Services Manager or within a hotel/resort

• Demonstrates highly developed Rooms Management and Leadership skill set
• Capable of developing, articulating and implementing
• Possesses strong problem-solving, reasoning, and analytical abilities
• Has excellent written and verbal English skills
• Strong computer skills

• Has high degree of intelligence and charisma and relates well to others
• Takes initiative and works through obstacles, taking personal responsibility for results
